Why We Are All Jessica Day From 'New Girl'

Some characters are way too relatable.

New Girl is filled with many complicated characters that come together to show that even adults struggle with life. It's a hilarious show that I can relate to on so many levels. One character, Jessica Day, always stands out to me and I always find my self saying "that is so me." She doesn't care that she's weird, she will sing about her life, she has complicated relationship problems, she's always eating, and she's an awkward human being. She is basically what we are on a daily basis and here's why.

1. FOOD IS LIFE

No matter how much your life is falling apart, you always find yourself looking for food. Food completes your life and you can have 7 meals a day. Sweet, savory, spicy, crunchy, greasy, salty, you name it, food is food. No matter how disappointing life or people get, food will never let you down. If it were to be legal, you'd even marry it.

2. When you're sad, Taylor Swift is always the solution

Even if you hate Taylor Swift, you really can't hate her music. You always find yourself searching for Taylor's old music and jamming out to it as you cry. You can grab that hot chocolate or wine, whatever you prefer, wrap yourself in a blanket, and just let the tears flow. Life is messy and complicated but Taylor will always be there to let it be known that she gets it.

3. Do I even have to explain this feeling?

Periods suck.

4. You're weird and you don't care

Being weird is your thing and you aren't afraid to show it. If someone doesn't like it, it's their loss. You show your crazy and live life the way you want to. You know there's nothing wrong with it because you're unique as hell.

5. You know your importance

Sometimes, you put others before yourself but eventually, you know that you are just as important as everyone else. Sometimes, you have to choose yourself and you know that it's okay to do that. You know your own worth and you make sure people know it too.

6. Relationships are too complicated

While people all around you are dating, you realize that you might just die alone. Relationships are messy for you and they don't work out sometimes. However, you still love Christmas so there's that.

7. You're obsessed with alcohol

You can probably drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Besides food, alcohol is your other best friend. You drink when you're sad, angry, happy, and basically whenever the hell you want. Alcohol is the easy solution to life.

8. You run away from your problems

Who has the time to deal with their problems when you can just hide from them? You tend to do a lot of running away and just wait for all your problems to explode in your face but at least you have cookies!

9. Bras are annoying

At the end of the day, you are most excited to go home and unbuckle your bra and let your boobs free. Bras are constraining and if you could, you would choose not to wear one at all.

10. Romance makes you low-key salty

When you aren't dating anyone, you are annoyed of couples. But when you're dating, you become the annoying couple. It's simple really.

11. You like to do stupid things

You live to make stupid mistakes and always support dumb ideas. It's just your thing. With your friends, you live life recklessly. Who cares, right?

12. You have no patience to deal with BS

You take no shit from anyone and you don't have the time to. You will literally rip someone to shreds if they try to cross you in any way. You defend yourself and you will not have the patience to give them a second chance. You just don't care enough to listen to fake, stupid, or irrelavant people.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
