Why I Am Voting For Trump
Pexel

First, I would like to take a moment to share that this is not my crusade to sway people's votes, but rather this is me sharing my own opinion on this highly debated topic. So if it does in fact help sway people's choice than so be it. I want people to have an open mind when reading this article, play devil's advocate for once in this election, and not see it all as black or white, but in shades of grey. Or even just try to see it from someone else's point of view.

This election can be summed up in a few words: chaotic, puzzling, frustrating and even more unflattering words. With the passing months, heading towards the actual voting day can be viewed as not a light at the end of the tunnel, but more of the countdown to an explosion. This nation is divided over who will be president in a more dramatic way than past elections. Both sides deeply torn between what they see as right and what they see as wrong. Though I see it much differently.

This election is not about choosing who has the best character--they both are flawed in every way--but rather choosing who is going to do the least amount of damage that has to be cleaned up after they leave office. People want to define this election as many things that it just is not. Contrary to belief we do not have one shining example of patriotism and one terrorizing impostor. In fact, we have two equally corrupt, equally in the wrong candidates, they just happen to be in the wrong for different reasons.

Everyone is quick to jump on Trump for his flaws, so it be a good idea to start with him. Even though I am supporting Trump, I will be the first to say that he is not what I really want for this country. He temper tantrums in interviews put every whining five-year-old to shame, and I have never seen a person put their foot in their mouth so many times when answering questions. Do I think his is erratic? Yes. Do I believe that despite some people's opinion that he should be more politically correct, especially when handling foreign issues? Most definitely. Though when given the option between the guy that does not know how to keep his mouth shut and the woman who has already betrayed this country with her corrupt actions, I will take my chances with Trump.

I would also like to shed some light on the recent scandal involving Trump. That specifically being the audio recording of him saying he sexually assaulted a woman, and then the dozens of women who came forward to say that they had been sexually assaulted by Trump. Many want to say that this is no behavior for a president to have, and I agree. I will not say that Trump's actions are something I support, but I will say this: these tapes and accusations were made ten plus years ago. This is not to say that time makes what he did any less wrong, but it does say something about his character now. No one is the same exact person they were ten years ago. Think about what you liked to do ten years ago. Do you still do the same things you did when you were 9, 10, and so on years old? Probably not, and that's because as you grew older, you changed.

Now let's take a look at the other side and examine Hillary's flaws. People love to highlight that she has so much experience, composure and drive for improving the safety of America. All these sound like amazing qualities for a president on paper, but let's take a deeper look at all these things that she is apparently so great at. Her experience, first as the First Lady then as the Secretary of State, is littered with flaws and actions that did great harm to this country. As for her composure, she might be able to hold her tongue pretty well in a heated debate, but she can also lie through her teeth without batting an eye. And finally, improving the safety of America: one of Hillary's main movements in her campaign is that she is going to try and take away our Second Amendment rights. To this I could write a whole article on why she is wrong, but I will settle for a few summaries. For one, the Second Amendment is part of our Bill of Rights. A document that holds most of the main freedoms that we Americans stand for. Some other amendments are the right to freedom of the press and the right to a fair trail. And to have someone who is running for president say they do not believe in some of those rights is someone I would not want guiding me. Though Hillary says that she will not completely take away the right to own a firearm, the limitations that she is calling for would make it so difficult to protect yourself that it would be the equivalent to permanently taking away the right to own a gun. If Hillary can not stand behind a right that was given by our founding fathers, then what else is she not willing to stand behind that makes America the country that it is?

This election is coming up faster than most would hope. Some big decisions need to be made that will decide our country's future for the next four years. One divided part of the country will be very disappointing with the choice that is made, but we will get through this. It will not be easy with either choice that will be made, but we will get through. So when going to the polls think good and hard about the choice you are making because it will affect our nation in more ways than it ever has before.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
