To begin, the negativity of this planet is palpable, given the circumstances that humanity is on the verge of causing the worst global extinction since the dawn of life on Earth. The exponential rise of the human population, along with the fact that we are not taking care of the Earth, nevertheless, ourselves, are undeniable to the facts of environment degradation and climate volatility as caused by human footprints: The scars of existence. The continuation of this virus within humanity needs to be hindered, and change begins with the hindrance of greed, selfishness, control, and the power-struggle of money as the illusion to the true equity of every living being on this planet. THE WORLD IS ON OUR HANDS.
Now and forever, the imprint of society is a grim reminder of life's greatest intentions gone wrong, so "is the world worth saving?" One might point to the meaning of life as meaningless, or life as pointless out of boredom. A great philosopher in the respect of Martin Luther King, Jr. once referenced that "... life begins to end when people are devalued..." (anonymous). The devaluation and self-devaluation of people has been the systematically-inclined business model for controlling people as things and commodities, but especially replaceable and valueless, no matter how valued. Even if the value of people is improved towards equality, what about the state of the rest of the world, let alone, the environment? "Life is the bane of existence."
Let the odds be ever in our favor, for, we will need more than just luck. The planet needs rescuing, but is society too late? People understand and accept the idea of never too late, but global extinction is at hand. Life is a stretch to survive. The stage is set for the next hundred of thousands of years, so how can the inevitable be avoided for the time being? One might believe in drastic change, but change is only relative to its direct affect upon the populous, so what can we do more than our own ways to help the cause? The government has all, but prevented change from occurring anyways, so why bother?
"Why is the world worth saving?" All life matters, right? "We can do this?!" The planet is worth saving, because, just like today is another day (chance), and tomorrow is another opportunity, people matter. Life has more meaning than survival and relationships: Life is about appreciation. Life is about saving the Earth: One foot in front of the other; fluid in motion; together, not apart; thriving, not surviving.
