Why The #WomensMarch Is So Important

The Women's March on Washington is NOT just a protest against President Trump. The Women's March is for so much more than that. Here is my list of why the Women's March is so important.

1. Because we just elected a racist President.

2. Because we just elected a sexist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic President.

3. Because women are still paid less than men.

4. Because men still try to control women's bodies.

5. Because men feel entitled to women's bodies.

6. Because women are done being treated as 2nd class citizens.

7. Because rape culture is very prevalent in our society.

8. Because 1 in 4 women are raped or sexually assaulted in their lifetime.

9. Because Black Lives Matter.

10. Because LGBTQI lives matter.

11. Because women matter.

12. Because we need to come together.

13. Because we need to unite as a nation.

14. Because we have to move forwards not backwards.

15. Because feminists aren't anti-men - they are pro-equality.

16. Because a pink tax actually exists.

17. Because we need to wake up.

18. Because we all need healthcare.

19. Because we all need education.

20. Because medicaid and medicare is important.

21. Because love wins.

22. Because the future is what we make it.

23. Because we stand with Planned Parenthood.

24. Because we need a little hope.

25. Because we are in charge.

26. Because we are nasty women.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
