High School Musical is probably one of the greatest movies to ever be created by Disney. The two that followed did not fail to live up to the fans expectations. It has been 10 years since the first one came out and I can watch it now and it will feel like the first time. Besides the fact that I can recite every line, song and dance along with the cast. This series deserves to be a national treasure.
First things first, the soundtrack is phenomenal and relatable for the most part.
Because who else felt like the couldn't be themselves all throughout high school? Probably everyone in it.
Zac Efron is perfect.
I wore a "T" necklace for a good year after HSM 2 came out. Cause Troy had my heart. He played basketball and could hold a note.
HSM was full of plot twists and drama. Enough to leave my 12 year old self and 20 year old self on the edge of my seat.
Like when Troy totally let the Wildcats down to hang out with Sharpay in HSM 2. And got Gabriella fired basically. Crazy!
And let's be honest, we all wanted to be Sharpay.
She was always a little mean, but very honest with her intentions. Her dog was cute and she basically is still goals. Sharpay just wanted everyone to love her and cater to her, and honestly I want the same thing.
Choreography was on point. Always.
I know the steps and counts to every song in every movie. I am not ashamed to admit that, unlike Chad in HSM 2.
Who wouldn't want to have their own private "finding themselves" dance on a golf course?
You can definitely bet on me that I will be dramatically running on the green and splashing the water. This is the best scene in all the series. His baby blue eyes were even bluer than before and he was finding out who his real friends were. What's better than that?
It hit home hard with talking about growing up and things changing.
Same Troy, same.
Troy and Gabriella were goals.
Still waiting for a random guy to sing with me at a New Years Eve party and fall in love with me. They went through everything together in high school and I am still waiting for them to make a HSM 4 where they get married and have athletic singers.
This series was magical. There has not been a time that I was disappointed while watching, except when Gabriella decided to go to college way too early. What was that? HSM is a timeless movie, a cherished movie of all Disney Channel lovers. I may not have gone to East High, but you can bet on me that I will be a Wildcat forever.
