Groutfit.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the word, it's actually a combination of two words in one. "Gray" and "outfit." One is a color and the other is known as the clothing you wear: Put them together and you've got an outfit that is 100 percent gray—a groutfit. Now people have mixed feelings about this bold fashion statement. Some people don't understand it and wouldn't be caught dead wearing a groutfit. However, I, and many others, happen to be proud and avid supporters of the groutfit. And while I recognize it's not the best look for certain events, there are a number of reasons why the groutfit is perfectly okay and even preferred:
1. It's quick and it's easy.
If you're in a rush or maybe if you just don't feel like choosing an outfit for the day, it's always there waiting for you. Grab that classic gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants and you're good to go! Zero percent stress, zero percent effort, but 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed.
2. It's comfortable.
You get the comfort of wearing your pajamas, but the style of simply casual. And who doesn't want the comfort of pajamas? They're warm, soft and loose fitting. It's simply perfect for any lazy day, run to the store or that all too early 8 a.m. class.
3. It's endorsed by celebrities.
We look to celebrities so much for what to wear and how to look. And that's right! The famous Kardashians, dashing actor Chris Hemsworth and brilliant artist Rihanna were all seen wearing the groutfit, making it a more stable, stylish and desirable fashion choice. Even more reason to throw on this comfy attire.
4. It's always in style.
You can be sure that the groutfit isn't going anywhere because it really never was in style to begin with. It's always been in the background and an option for many over the years. And in style or out of style, who cares! If you're happy and comfortable in what you're wearing, then more power to you!
5. It makes you feel great.
There's no better feeling than wearing a groutfit. You're comfortable, and when you're comfortable, you're more yourself, and when you're yourself, you're happy! Not to mention your top and bottom match and that's always a plus.
There are legitimate reasons to wear a groutfit, so the next time you see someone sporting this look, make sure to give a friendly wink and smile and remember why they're wearing that classic gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
So to groutfit supporters everywhere—be comfy, be confident, be true and be you. But most importantly, wear your groutfits.
