When you first think of college, you think of the stress and hard work that comes with it. As soon as summer comes around, one thinks of swimming and fishing and not having to do anything but lounge around and enjoy it, but sometimes that isn't the case. This summer I decided to take a summer class. Some of my friends laughed at me and told me that I would regret it and that I wouldn't have time to do anything else, but they were wrong.
Taking a summer class wasn't exactly my first choice and I didn't really want to in the beginning, but when you think about it, there are plenty of benefits. Maybe your GPA isn't where you want it to be or maybe you are looking to graduate early, but either way, summer classes can get you there.
I started my summer class about a week ago and it is completely online, which is nice. I figured, I am already on my computer all the time, so what is 15 minutes here or 30 minutes there? This summer class is making me more productive, plus I still have plenty of time to do what I want and enjoy summer.
I am retaking the summer class because the first time I took it, I didn't really get the grade I had hoped for, so I thought, why not. The length of the course is six weeks, which is nice. When you think about time, I have plenty. During the semester, I had to wake up early and get to class and I had to go for about four months which I didn't like. But taking this summer class, I get to do it at my speed. If I want to get ahead, I have that chance or if I want to go slower and take my time, I have the chance. I don't have to wake up at ungodly hours of the day or rush to get things done.
Summer classes can be a good thing because you control it rather that it controlling you. You dictate when and how you do things. Yes, there are still due dates, but you aren't juggling four or five other classes along with it. You focus your attention on this one thing which can make it easier on you.
