Pastors aren’t the only ones who tell people about Jesus. It is every Christian’s duty to live a life that points to Christ and witnesses to others through actions and words. Sharing the gospel is not easy for most of us. If it is easy to you then congratulations, you are one of few. But for most of us it takes time to share the gospel with someone.
Sharing the story of Jesus to people does not require a four step process. The most crucial point in sharing this is to build a genuine relationship with someone. If we are trying to tell people about our Savior that we barely know, they most likely are not going to listen. But when we continuously pour into people with the love of Jesus they will begin to notice something different.
I am by no means saying that telling someone you barely know about Jesus is a waste of time. It is our job to plant seeds into the hearts of others and allow the Holy Spirit to work on the hearts of those we witness to. We are sent to act as little Christs spreading the love of Jesus to whoever crosses our path and to tell them about why we were sent onto this earth.
Now this probably seems like an impossible task for most of us. But we have to pray for opportunities to share the gospel and ask that God will use our mouths as an instrument for His glory. If we are trying to do this all by ourselves then we will soon become tired and feel as we are wasting time pouring into others.
Even when we are praying about the people we witness to and are asking that they will notice the love our Lord has for them, it can be discouraging if we are not seeing results. Then again it is our job to plant seeds in the lives of unbelievers, not to transform their mind and hearts as that is the work of the Holy Spirit working for God’s glory.
The importance of all of this is to let others be aware of this gift of eternal life in Heaven. It is our job as Christians to do the Lord’s work. If we keep this message to ourselves then we are not fulfilling what the Lord has asked us to do. Witnessing to others is no doubt time consuming, stressful, and irritating at times. But when we see their hearts being changed, it's truly radical not only for them, but also for us.
I know all of this because without others pouring into me and my life, I would still be stuck in the sin of this world. The only way our sins are forgiven is if we put our faith and trust in the Lord with our lives. We have to continuously strive and ask to have a deeper and closer relationship with the creator of this universe.
The blood of Jesus Christ is the only way the Lord forgives us of our sins. There are no acts or good deeds that can save us from Hell. If you want to change the lives of others for the better, then tell them about Jesus so they can also be saved.
