In college, some are not as lucky as I have been. I was able to move off to a school I wanted to attend and live with three amazing roommates. The reason I think I am so lucky is because those roommates have become my best friends. I get the opportunity to live with three girls who I know always have my back and are an open ear and a shoulder to cry on.
Here are 5 reasons why my roommates have become my best friends.
1) They are my shoulder to cry on. My mom passed away last April; I have my good days, and my bad ones. They can decipher between the two. My roommates can pick up my emotions based of the first facial expression they see in the morning, and I can do the same. They are there on my roughest days whether all I want to do is cry or if I want to talk. They are there for me regardless.
2) They listen to my crazy stories. My roommates are there for the crazy stories. When I came home and have had the most awkward of day or even if something crazy has happened to me, they are always there to listen and laugh with me. They even remember stories that I wish I could forget.
3) They don't care to cuddle with me. My roommates are there for me when I want to do nothing more than lay in bed all-day and just have someone there.
4) We share everything. Anything and everything is up for grabs. We share everything from closets to shoes to our beds. The house is completely open; we are more like a family.
5) They love me as much as I love them. At the end of the day, I get to go home and live with three girls who love me no matter what. Family is forced to live with you, roommates are not. They choose to.
I could not have chosen better people live with. They are a huge part of my life; they are my best friends.
