Yes, you may call me crazy

Why I Am One Of The Few Who Is Going To Miss Work
Madysen Alyese Luzzo

Yes, you read the headline right. I AM going to miss work. Am I crazy because of it? Probably, but oh well. For those who don't already know me, I am the Energizer Bunny. I am on the go constantly and I stay on it. I enjoy staying busy and having things to do since I do have a lot of energy. Which in the long run, makes work enjoyable for me. It's not all about the check at the end of the week, but what I did and accomplished during that week to even receive it.

I enjoy getting to see new faces as a host at O'Charley's. Whether it's a group of smiling faces that are patient and kind or a couple that has been fighting for the past hour and want to take the wrath out on you because you didn't sit them where they wanted to be sat. I live for the last minute party of twenty coming in on a Free Pie Wednesday. I love having children screaming and crying because they couldn't sit next to mom. I especially enjoy customers complaining for no reason and wanting the stressed out manager PRONTO. Yes, I am being facetious on the last three points, but I honestly really do like and enjoy my job. I honestly feed off of the people. I love the majority of the people that I work with and have become really great friends with them. We all love when we get our "squad" to work together and dominate the work for the night and get the kudos from the boss. We all come with the mindset to work and enjoy the payoff at the end of the week: OUR CHECKS.

I am going to miss not only my co-workers but my managers as well. They have taught me more efficient ways of doing certain jobs and are super friendly and chill. They don't make you seem like you are not worth anything or that you are just another employee of theirs. But that you are a person trying to make it through life and are putting forth the effort of working to make a living. They will sit down and talk to you if you have any issues and will make sure that you both can work around them. Honestly? They want you to succeed as much as you want to. They're very understanding, especially because they've been in the same situation as well. They've started from the bottom to being in a lead role and now they can help others with that power they do have. It's encouraging to see that they use it towards the good and not take advantage of others because of it.

Yes, our rolls may get burnt sometimes. And the wait might be thirty minutes because the kitchen is backed up. The kid beside your table might be throwing food at you, and the server might have spilt your drink on you. But all in all, I am honestly going to miss the crazy chaos of Free Pie Wednesdays and the backed up weekends. All because I honestly love my job.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
