If you haven't already heard of Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, I highly suggest you tune in. Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary (OFSDS) is, in my humble opinion, the best thing ever. OFSDS is a sanctuary for elderly dogs who, for one reason or another, need a place to live in their golden years. The Facebook page posts photos, new updates, and other important information about the dogs that live at the sanctuary. Here are nine reasons why Old Friends is the best.
1. They're a non-profit organization
As stated on their Facebook page, OFSDS is a non-profit corporation, with any donations made going straight to benefiting the dogs and the sanctuary. How great is it knowing that when you donate to this amazing place, it's going straight to the wonderful dogs that live there?
2. They not only care for these dogs, but they help find them foster homes
Deemed "Forever Foster Homes," these dogs have the chance to be adopted by a family who will love and take care of them for the rest of their years. As we all know, it's harder for older dogs to be adopted at a shelter. OFSDS specializes in giving these dogs a chance that they wouldn't normally get in any regular animal shelter.
3. They have the best presidential candidate living with them
Mildred is a pug who has been living at OFSDS since April 2015. While she's been down a tough road, including losing both of her eyes to infection, she's now enjoying her life at OFSDS and on the campaign trail. #Mildred2016
4. The most famous beagle in the world lives there, too
Who doesn't love the Peanuts characters and their beloved beagle, Snoopy? Well, OFSDS houses their own Snoopy, too, who is just as cute (or even cuter) than the original. Seriously, just look at that face.
5. The comments on the Facebook page are so endearing
In a world that is seemingly pretty negative, people need a bright spot to their days. These dogs are just that. People leave the purest, kindest, most loving comments on the pictures posted to OFSDS Facebook page, and they seriously make be want to die of happiness. So pure. So wonderful.

7. Honestly, I could say that for any of these dogs
Each dog is so special in their own way. I have never met any of them in real life, but I seriously love them. Just look at them!

8. They provide the best care a dog could ask for
As we all know, once you get older, the more health problems you seem to have. This is the same for dogs. While many people struggle to take care of their elderly dogs, OFSDS does it perfectly. All of these dogs receive veterinary care whenever they need it, as well as a comfortable place to live. Even when a dog is "helped over the Rainbow Bridge" like Lolly (picture above in the middle) was a few weeks ago, you know that they received the best care and affection any dog could ask for in their golden years.
9. Finally, they just really love dogs!
The best part about OFSDS to me is that you can tell these people have a deep love for the dogs their taking care of. From their Facebook picture captions on the many photos they post to their care and compassion, you know that the people working at OFSDS love these animals. There is seriously nothing better than knowing elderly dogs, who may not have a chance anywhere else, are living their best lives at OFSDS.
