Ever since the launch of the Nintendo entertainment system was released back in the 1980’s, Nintendo has been a dominating name in the Video Game industry. The Nintendo community continued to rapidly grow as Nintendo introduced and implemented new technology to Video Games. It was until the launch of the Nintendo GameCube that Nintendo began to lose its luster amongst the Video Game industry.

This is because other consoles such as Sony’s PlayStation 2 and Microsoft’s Xbox were presented an experience that adapted to a wider audience. The Nintendo Wii was highly successful for Nintendo as it generated a lot of revenue, however, it didn’t put Nintendo back on top as most of the attention was mainly foucesd on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 as well as Sony’s PlayStation 3. Nintendo found itself in a deeper hole as the Wii U was not very successful, which is why Nintendo needs to fix a lot of flaws.

One of the biggest set backs that have had a negative impact on Nintendo is the fact that a lot of their consoles are extremely hard to find when they first launch. The Nintendo Switch is a great example of this as part shortages are preventing Nintendo from producing enough Nintendo Switch’s for stores to have adequate stock.

Nintendo also recently launched the Nintendo Classic, which is a miniaturized version of the Nintendo entertainment system that launched in the 1980’s, with games preloaded on the console. It generated so much hype that they were sold out within days with no signs of Nintendo producing more. This led to a lot of people buying as many consoles as they could get their hands on a reselling them for thousands of dollars to the people who wanted to actually play the console.

Another major problem Nintendo has is the fact that there are not that many AAA games on the console. This is what has been steering a lot of gamers away from Nintendo Consoles, as they want to be able to play games beyond Nintendo’s exclusive titles such as the Legend of Zelda and Super Mario. The family environment Nintendo products produces is what really has been limiting the audience Nintendo can communicate with.

Nintendo is relying on the Nintendo Switch to recover from the unsuccessful Nintendo Wii U. However, there are more problems with the Nintendo Switch being discovered as more people get the Console into their hands. There have also been reports that developers find the Nintendo Switch hardware to be weak as it resembles more of a tablet than a console. The voice chat method used by the Switch has also received a lot of backlash as it requires consumers to use a smartphone application.

Ever since the Nintendo Gamecube launched, Nintendo has been trying to overcome competing consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation. There are a lot of things, good and bad, that Nintendo can learn from their previous consoles that can help it climb back to the top. If Nintendo can manage to fix a few flaws and get the support of some AAA games, there is no doubt that Nintendo can reclaim its top position in the video game industry.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
