Nice Guys Don't Finish Last

If nice guys finish last, then great guys come behind them.

Hey friends, I'm here to break the age-old rule of "nice guys always finish last." It's a false statement, and I am going to attempt to tell you why; I'd also like to bring to your attention why this is such a wide-spread idea.

Reason #1: Some girls don't know how to react to a guy being nice to them. Give it another try -- You may catch a girl off guard by giving her a compliment or extending an invitation. Don't let that throw you off your game. Try again, and pay attention to the vibes. Don't be afraid to talk about your feelings, or intentions. Just try not to scare her off, and be confident not cocky.

Reason #2: There is a difference between being nice and overbearing, or "too much". Some girls like their space, and some don't. (Yes I realize we're complicated.) Tap into what this girl seems to prefer, and try and cater your actions toward that.

Reason #3: Girls rarely know what they want, and even when they do they tend to chance their mind -- Don't always think of a girl's feelings or actions as concrete. We're allowed to change our minds just like you are, so be patient and easy-going with it.

Reason #4: Even if said 'Nice Guy' and a girl don't date, they will have a great friendship. Nice guys know to be polite and respectful of girls, whereas the 'bad guys' tend to manipulate, suck at advice, and being a supportive friend. Any relationship a nice guy has is guaranteed to be of higher quality than other guys.

Reason #5:

It's easy to think nice guys finish last, but in reality, the nice guys get the girl in the end. They're the guys that get the long-term relationships that are honest and full of real love. Think about what you would rather have -- temporary or long-term.

Tips for the nice guys:

Don't let one girl, or even a couple girls make you feel like nice guys always lose. It's simply not true. The majority of us want the nice guy. We want the guy who asks how our day has been, or listens to us when we rant. The "bad boy" might get our attention at first, but the nice guys are the ones who really get the girl in the end. The nice guys are what we want, even if we don't know it right away, and even if we fall for the bad boy tricks, we want you.

Nice guys, don't change yourself to get the girl. Be honest, be yourself, and don't be the bad guy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
