Recently my sister was in an accident that was super scary. This only opened my eyes to how much I love her and need her in my life. If you love your sister like I do I'm sure you can relate to the phrase "sisters: a built in life-long best friend." Keep reading for my reasons as to why my sister shares my soul.
1. We Survive the Family Together
Every family vacation or holiday get-togethers, I can always count on my sister to be there with me. We partake in the festivities and then hole up in a corner and watch funny cat videos together while avoiding everyone. From parents and grandparents who have had too much to drink, to little rambunctious cousins that like to throw things at us, we have survived it all.
2. I Will Always Have Someone to Call
Sure I have my best friend and my boyfriend, but nothing beats the bond of blood. If I have problems, or just need advice, I can always count on my sister to answer the phone and be there for me. She also kind of doesn't have a choice because we are sisters/built-in best friends no matter what. Plus we love each other's gossip and staying current in each other's lives.
3. The Memories
Besides my parents, my sister is the only person who has truly been with me my whole life, which means we have all of our memories together. The good and the bad. We are old enough now to laugh about everything and reminisce on childhood memories. We are also young enough to have plenty of more memories to come.
4. She's The Best Support System
She supports me in anything I want to do and I do the same for her. We push each other to be the best versions of ourselves. She keeps me going and she will always be the post I lean on when I need a little support.
5. We Are Basically Twins
In more ways than one my sister and I are like twins, even though we are four years apart. We get mistaken for each other all the time. If that doesn't happen at least people know immediately that we are related. Also, we can finish each other's sentences and I always know what she is thinking.
6. Her Pain is My Pain
Seeing her in the accident recently hurt me on another level. I stayed strong through it because she needed me to take care of her but after all the adrenaline wore off I was almost in pieces. She was in so much pain and there was nothing I could do. I hurt for her. That is how I know we share a soul because that half of me was going through all that pain with her. That was probably the hardest thing for me to handle to this day.
Appreciate your siblings because they are the only ones you get! I love my sister more than anything and if you agree, give it a share to show your sis how much you care.
