Things can happen in the blink of an eye. When someone is gone or ill, you cannot do anything to help them. Staying strong for yourself and them is what they would want you to do. But, what you have to realize is you can’t get those people back once they're gone. Take every moment you can with them.

Recently, I didn’t get much time with someone that was important in my life. It wasn’t until she was in the hospital my attention was grabbed. These kinds of things can make us bottle up our emotions and cause personal issues. I knew that freaking out wasn’t an option. I needed to stay calm, and be there for her. Visiting her every day and showing my strength was my way of hoping she would get better.

In moments like this, we come to realize that family is a very important aspect to our lives. There are so many families that don’t spend quality time together. It's not only separating relationships but closing the doors of communication. We shouldn’t feel moved to grow closer because someone is in the hospital. We should already be closer because that’s what families do.

If families weren't important to our world, why would we celebrate holidays, birthdays, or family reunions? We do these things to become closer. We learn each others relational and personality traits. It’s not because we have to, it’s because we want to. Family is a huge part of the world, it’s changing every day because people don’t understand the importance of it.

Your family teaches you while growing up. The way you went to school, ate your breakfast, and even tied your shoes. You develop relationships that are extremely close. You get these feelings because you are family, you grow to love them every day. Parents, children, cousins, aunts, and uncles are all a huge part of family. We wouldn’t have specific names for these people if they didn’t have a special meaning to us.

Your family grows next to you from the day you are born till the day you die. From diapers to canes they stand by you and support you through thick and thin. Families can separate or they can grow. Life can get rough. Sicknesses and accidents happen. Sometimes, the only thing that helps is staying close and being strong.

Family is a huge part of all our lives. You never know what life will bring you, continue the growth of your relationship because it’s important. I love my family no matter what. Living close to them is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I just want you to remember; you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, so share how much you care today.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
