Why I Love The Icarus Account
The Icarus Account

When anyone ever rides in the car with me, my music playing in the background is always really diverse. Probably because I genuinely love all sorts of music. Just because that's the case, that doesn't mean that I don't have a favorite genre or a favorite band. Ever since I can remember I have been absolutely in love with acoustic music. It's so relaxing and so wonderful to listen too because it takes tremendous amounts of talent to perform completely acoustically. You have to know how to play an instrument, whether it is the piano or the guitar, and you have to be able to write and sing. Which brings me to what I really want to write about today, or rather who. Even since 2008, I have had one favorite band, and that would be The Icarus Account. Now I may have been late to their party because they first released music in 2007, but ever since I discovered their music they have been a staple in my music library.

Now this pair of twins is extremely talented. Ty and Trey are superb songwriters. Every album or ep they have released, every song is always great. Sure I have picked either one or two or sometimes even three, that I will play over and over again. And sometimes, for me, it's so unfair that they have this much talent. They are able to sit down, pick up guitars and a pen and some paper, and write such inspirational and emotional music that hits down to the core and that everyone can relate too at some point in their lives. And not to mention, their harmonies are amazing!

Not only are Ty and Trey this talented, they also make it aware that they truly care about and are grateful for their fans who have made their dream a reality. They have shared countless amounts of stories about fans that have been impacted by their music on their website. Like how a fan used one of their songs to propose to his girlfriend, and first dance song choices, or how their music has inspired and saved the life of a high schooler who was suffering from depression. It's always so nice seeing musicians and artist notice these instances in the lives of their fans and make it known, and Ty and Trey have done it throughout their career.

Some of my favorite tracks of their's are: "More to Me," "Closer to You," "Mayday," "Dear Love," "Little Things," "So In Love," "Favorite Girl," "Obsessed with Stars," "Keeper of Your Heart," "I Love You Always," "Take It Or Leave It," "You," "All My Love," and "Over the Moon."

The last two are off of their new album that they just released recently titled Over the Moon.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour
StableDiffusion

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
