There are so many instances where a person will look to the people around them and see how put together their lives are. I can personally vouch for that because everywhere I look, people seem to be focused and headed in the right direction. One question enters my head, “Where did I go wrong?” It took me a long time to realize that not everyone’s life is as put together as it seems, and that it’s okay.
In high school, all we could focus on was enjoying our four years while also doing everything necessary to secure us a place in the college of our dreams, and now we’re here building a future for ourselves. When you’re 14 or even 18, you don’t need to know every little detail about your future or what you want to do with your life and how, and even now we still don't.
It’s okay to not have it all figured out. And maybe that’s what we’re all meant to do; find the true meaning of life throughout all the uncertainty and mystery. People are always looking for and wanting the answers to all of their questions, but what if it is more important to bask in the uncertainty than going around trying to figure everything out for yourself?
Things are always changing, it’s a truth of life. We get so caught up in trying to make our lives feel so perfect, we sometimes forget to actually enjoy the real aspect of it. I believe it is more important for us to go with the flow of life, than to try to understand every little thing that happens. It is smarter to focus on yourself and being happy, than always trying to have your life put together.
We are all going where we are supposed to in life, and at some point or the other we will reach our destination. Yeah, there may be bumps in the road or tragedies that can get you down, but instead of dwelling on them it’s best to just keep moving forward.
It is a scary thing, not having your life together, but maybe there’s a kind of poetic beauty in all of it. We were put on this Earth to live our lives in whatever way we choose, and there is a learning process to all of that. Nothing in life is certain, not our jobs, our friends, or even our relationships, so instead of being sad or scared about the future, we should dive in head first and see where it takes us.
If your life is not put together, there is no need to worry. Take time to smell the roses and enjoy your life; it’s never fun to live with any regrets. Because you never know, the minute you let go of the need for control, everything may fall into place.
