Why It Is Hard Moving To A Different Country

We all know that moving can be very difficult. It can change you in ways that you never even knew were possible. However, moving to a different country and having to restart your entire life is probably the hardest thing to do. When you move you leave friends, family, and so much more behind. So here are some reasons why I think moving to a different country is hard.

1. You leave family behind

When some people move they tend to move closer to family. However, coming from a different country you leave family behind.

2) Friends

Leaving the people that you grew up with, and made so many memories with will always be a difficult thing to do.

3) Relationships

Long distance relationships are cute and all but chances are you will end up having to break up with each other.

4) It's so hard to say goodbye

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing you will ever have to do--All the tears though.

5) Having to adjust to different weather climates

It stinks when you leave your home land where the weather is always the same, and have to adjust to different temperatures. You never get used to the cold EVER!

6) You have to start over

Moving to a new country means you have to start life over. For some that may be a good thing, but for others new beginnings are not as nice as they seem.

7) Have to learn school/work systems

Though it may sound easy, transitioning from a Caribbean school to a U.S school was very hard. The systems were just so different...from classes to the way they ate lunch.

8) The people are not always going to be nice to you

You expect some sort of hospitality but that is not always the case because the people can be really rude.

9) If you have an accent: GOOD LUCK

Having an accent is like a curse because people talk to you just to hear it, and some of them even make fun of it. They will even pretend to be you friend just because they like your accent. Oh, and prepare to hear "omg I love your accent!" at least five times per day.

10) You are going to change

I can promise you that you will change a lot after moving to a different country.

11) You are going to miss your old life a lot

You will definitely miss your old home, friends, bf/gf a lot. The home sickness will be real, and there will always be something that will remind you of home.

12) It will get better though

On a brighter note.. It will get better though. It may take a while for you to adjust and find your place, but when you do you can make some great memories there too.

Moving to a different country is definitely hard. There are going to be some good times and some bad, some happy times and some sad. You just have to keep pressing on though and remember that you won't be new forever, and that one day you can visit your homeland.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
