During a year's time, there are several different seasons that occur. In addition, throughout one's lifetime, different periods of growth come and go. Furthermore, autumn is not only my favorite time of the year, but also holds the greatest symbolism related to my own life as well.
During the fall season, the leaves on the trees turn into several magnificent colors. In my opinion, watching this happen every year makes me realize how important it is for us to let the past go because there are better things in life to look forward to.
Ernest Hemingway said, "Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is." When I see the leaves slowly changing, I consider them as people who are suffering, by holding onto the past.
However, when one let's go, he or she becomes reborn and starts to realize that life is a remarkable gift. It is never the end, but always the start of a new beginning. Our souls are intertwined with autumn more than we think.
When I walk down the paths of nature, I admire the symbolism that is all around me. It really helps my past wounds stay closed because autumn reminds me that I have a life that's worth living in the present. The past will not determine who I am but can help prepare me for who I will become instead.
The colors in autumn are far more beautiful than the colors in summer and I believe autumn expresses more grace. Autumn is the season that can help one find serenity.
Charlotte Flake Bates said, "The heart of autumn must have broken here, and poured its treasure out upon the leaves." Therefore, the leaves represent beauty after sadness that one may have experienced. Even though the leaves eventually fall to the ground making trees barren, new growth will come once again.
As people, we have to be willing to have the strength to move on with our lives. We cannot let fear stop us from becoming reborn. Without rebirth, one cannot find happiness.
Autumn provides us with an opportunity to do something new and incredible as we are starting our lives over. Jim Rohn said, "Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change." If we remain as who we are we cannot become anyone else.
In my opinion, it's okay to accept our scars and embrace the beauty in them. Be that as it may, we must not hold onto them because that means we will allow those past wounds to control our lives. The past does not help provide anyone with a good future, or a positive mind.
