"You're voting for Donald Trump? How can you call yourself a good citizen/ feminist/ Christian/ patriot/ responsible person, etc.? I mean, didn't you hear when he said (offensive thing)?"

As a Republican who also happens to intern for the GOP, I receive such reactions frequently, as do my co-workers. The friends who imply that no reasonable person would vote for anyone but Hillary come from various political angles. While some were on team Clinton from day one, others were formerly Bernie supporters, or felt forced to defect from the Republican party. Regardless of their background, I think these friends have one thing in common: They subscribe to a certain popular, streamlined vision of Donald Trump as a bellowing, offensive, and brainless ball of everything foul. This is the Donald Trump of the media - the bombastic Trump whose uncalled for comments gave folks from both sides of the aisle a good groan. And best of all, he had an orange face and a silly wig. He was the funniest, most infuriating joke on the internet ... until spring turned to summer and he had taken the lead while we were snickering dismissively.

At this point, in steps a hero to rescue America from this clown: It's Hillary Clinton, here to beat Trump simply by being hated less!

Now, voting for someone you despise simply because you despise their opponent more does make sense. However, when so much is at stake, it's worth considering why exactly you hate Trump, especially if you normally vote Republican.

But here's the truth: It's not as if Trump is more scandal-ridden than Clinton. Rather, Clinton and her campaign have the status and expertise to evade consequences - from her "mysterious" acquittal following her email scandal to the schemes to sabotage Bernie Sanders uncovered by Wikileaks.

To me, that's what's really dangerous: opening the Oval Office to someone as relentlessly corrupt as that. Because while we all express our righteous indignation at Trump's grimy one-liners, the fact remains that he has an impressive background in business, is realistic about the risk of terrorism, is likely to appoint a Republican to the Supreme Court (if you're into that) and is much more of an outsider to the mess that is US politics.

Still shocked I'm voting for Trump? Let me make this clear: I don't think Muslims should be banned, that Mexicans are rapists, that we need a "wall," or that periods are weird. Donald Trump has walked back from some of these statements, and because the United States President cannot be an autocrat, there is no chance of his crazier ideas ever becoming law.

I do think, however, that Donald Trump is our best chance of making America great again in 2016.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
