I want to start this article off by saying a few things. I'm not bashing Hillary Clinton. I'm judging her based on my own opinion and freedom to speech which I am entitled to per the first amendment. I'm not a crazy right wing, anti-feminist, redneck loving conservative. I'm writing solely on the fact that she shouldn't be the first elected female to become our president. There are many more female political figures that are more than qualified for this job, but they don't have the “Clinton” last name or the backing that our former Secretary of State has. I’m a white female who is a victim of sexual assault and a republican, and a Catholic. My reasons for stating that I am catholic is because in the recent WikiLeaks emails where Hillary Clinton’s team members have attacked catholics. Stereotyping all catholics as conservatives and also saying that it is “the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion.” The former Secretary of State is not the best candidate for our America as it stands today.
As most all American's know, we are less than two weeks away from an election that no one had ever anticipated. An election that can make or break our nation. But most importantly, an election that has become a fight between two candidates who continually fight for what they believe, but it somehow always turns into a bickering battle.
The recent video that has come out involving our republican nominee needs to be addressed. So for starters, a man should never feel like he has the power to say those things about a women. Even believing morally that it is okay to speak like that or to physically do so is wrong. At this point in time, I am positive that almost every person had watched the video themselves, heard about it, or discussed it within their families, friends or colleagues. I do not excuse nor condone the things that Mr. Trump had said in the “locker room” talk video. No justification, excuse, or apology that will hide or cover the things said in that video, but when it comes down to his locker room talk video from eleven years ago is a lot less of a problem than what our potentially first female president has done. The rape culture in our country is not okay. If a mans “locker room” talk is being held against him, I do not understand why she's not held accountable at the same level. But if we are talking about rape culture, we need to mention that Hillary represented a rapist while she was a attorney in 1975. When it comes to judgement of either candidate's character, neither is morally and ethically correct. But if you sit back and don't vote, one candidate will still be elected into the oval office. If you pencil in your own candidate, Trump or Clinton will still be elected. This is our reality in our nation. Wake up and look at facts and make an educated choice. But if all you only walk away with one thing from this article remember this, Hillary Clinton has been involved with politics for thirty years yet she's managed to not really do anything productive with her time. This women has continually stood in front of the American people and lied time after time. About her “attack” in Bosnia, the email scandal, the Clinton foundation and Benghazi.
Another issue that needs to be addressed is that the media is completely controlling our election and our country. The media could honestly be blamed for the candidates that we have. If the media had covered the other candidates in both parties the way they covered Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton we would have had a different outcome. The mainstream media has controlled what they do and don't want us to hear in order to get views.
Donald Trump has my vote for reasons that should mean a lot to not only myself but anyone in our nations whose truly concerned for the state of our country. With that being said here is what I believe are real issues that we should be considering and comparing with both candidates.
1. Pro Life. It’s a plain and simple issue. The amount of abortions in our country is horrifying. You have some who are taking advantage of a system. In 2014 954,000 abortions took place just at state level. Twenty one percent of all U.S pregnancies are aborted and that excluding miscarriages. California has the highest rate for abortions in the United States. Hearing statists make you realize how absurd it is. Babies have been born at 22 weeks and survived. Hillary Clinton is for late term abortions and believes that babies do not have constitutional rights.
2. National Security. The former Secretary of State is for open borders. Which means we let everyone in. Our country has been continually been attacked by terrorist who want american blood. They have expressed how much they hate our country, yet she wants open borders which will let terrorist have an easier way into our country! My heart does break for what is going on in Aleppo right now. I understand that many want to come into our country but I do not think that it's unfair to screen those who want to come into our country and claim that they are refugees. Trump is for protecting American’s. Regardless who gender or race. “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders.” Hillary Clinton has said it herself in a 2013 interview.
3. Economy. Both candidates have ideas that are night and day compared to each other. Donald Trump is a businessman man, not a politician. He has ran a handful of successful businesses that are doing great and thriving. His economic plans for large corporations will bring companies back to create more jobs. When he becomes the president he will make the Unites States economy his business. Hillary has made lots of comments about all the great things she'll do for our economy but they all involve raising our taxes. I understand that a lot of her plan has to do with raising taxes on the wealthy but those wealthy people have worked their asses off for years to become what they are today. If anything it should make others want to strive to become a better version of themselves.
4. Gun control. As most people know Donald Trump has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA). The former Secretary of State is for gun reform. Meaning that our Second Amendment will be changed to a smaller cousin of itself. Clinton has said that she will appoint Supreme Court justices that will diminish the second amendment right or completely abolish it. She also pushes for gun bans that will make guns more costly. She's has also pushed the idea of making gun manufacturers and sellers possibly liable for crimes that involve guns.
There is obviously many more issues that I do not agree with the former Secretary of State on. I really want everyone to look at the bigger picture. Our country is at a crossroad. Vote!! Voting for someone who isn't Trump or Clinton is as good as not voting at all.
