My mom is one of my best friends, and I couldn't be happier about it.
She's always there to listen.
My mom will listen to my lengthy stories, no matter how pointless there are. She understands that I got my story telling ability (or lack thereof) from her.
She doesn't hold grudges.
She won't get mad if I say I'll call her later and then forget, or if she asks me to help around the house and I forget to do it. (I can be a tad forgetful.)
She lets me borrow her clothes/jewelry.
Granted, I generally don't, but she always offers.
She listens to my fashion advice and gives me some of her own.
My mom will genuinely listen to my opinion about her outfit and accessories, and she will often take my advice; she knows I tell it like it is. I also know I can count on her to give me her honest opinion about whatever I'm wearing that day and that's what friends are for.
She's a great role model.
It's an ancient saying that “you are judged by the company you keep," and if that's the case, I'm definitely glad to be in my mom's company. She always goes out of her way to help others and is such a kindhearted, loving women.
We can laugh. A lot.
My mom and I aren't very serious people, and we can find humor in just about everything. So many times, we've been doubled over laughing about something most other people probably wouldn't find funny.
She knows how to cheer me up.
My mom knows just what I need to hear when I'm having a bad day, and she'll stop at nothing when she's trying to cheer me up. She knows me better than anyone and because of that she knows the good, the bad, and the ugly.
She's a great shopping buddy.
I love going shopping with my mom because we always have a blast. She helps me find cute clothes and bears with me even on the days when I don't think anything looks good.
My mom is an amazing woman, and I know that I'm lucky to have her in my life. She's always there for me and is a great best friend, which is what makes me want to be like her when I grow up.
