If you were to ask me a couple years ago If I saw myself attending Michigan State University, I will so "no" I said I saw myself attending either a smaller or medium sized school. When It was time to start looking at schools at that point I did not know what I wanted to study or size and location of the school. It wasn't until I started looking into what I wanted to do or the size of the school that I wanted something different.
Michigan State wasn't really on my radar until my dad and I went on a walk around the campus of Western Michigan that I brought up visiting Michigan State since we were close to the campus and when I walked on that campus I instantly fell in love and knew it was the right fit for me.
My mom and I went on an official tour of the campus that my mom saw the New York side of me (I felt more confident, and I just felt like I can live here, and succeed on this campus). Also, my mom at this point knew there was no way to get me from not attending.
After attending the tour, I did some more research on the school and the program I wanted to do (special education) and found out that they were ranked number one in education for at least 20 years. Another reason, was because I knew I wanted a school were they had a strong and winning athletics which was obviously present at Michigan State University.
Back on the side of academic side of things MSU they just offered the best resources dealing with classes.
