They celebrate a significant event that happened within history that influenced a large number of people, typically trying to spread the good spirit of the event that became a holiday tradition. However, what is the significance of such holidays, and why do we continue to honor such traditions? These are a few questions one can ask when analyzing the importance of having these traditions in our society.
