If you have ever seen Parks and Recreation then you know exactly what the phrase “treat yo’ self” means. You also know why it is really good to “treat yo’ self.” Everyone gets stressed out from school or work and some times you just need to wind down or reward yourself for a successful, crazy week. What better way to do that then going on a spa or shopping trip with your best girls? Here are a few ways to do that.

1. Like I said, go on a shopping trip. Get some new clothes that express who you are and make you feel sexy.

2. Order a big, meaty pizza! Or a big, veggie pizza because you’re a vegetarian, or something.

3. Go to the beach, if you live somewhere where it’s hot, and just chill out and relax.

4. Make a spa trip! I’ve never been to a spa, but I have been in need of a “treat yo’ self” day. Who knows, maybe that will be my next adventure.

(Sort of off topic, but watch Conan O'Brien treat himself at a Korean spa! You won’t regret it). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k70xBg8en-4

5. Go to a to a hotel and order room service all day and watch unlimited television.

6. “Paint me like one of your French girls.” But actually, go find an artist and have them paint you a portrait.

7. Maybe switch roles and become the artist. Have a wine and art day!

8. Treat yo' self to some amazing cuisine. San Diego is home to so many amazing, delicious places that you should definitely try.

9. Don't go to the gym and eat all the bad food you want.

10. Buy some bling! Stock up on some jewelry. That special necklaces you have been eyeing up for the past month -- go get it!"

11. Make a trip to an amusement park. If you live in Southern California, it’s Disneyland. Go to the happiest place on Earth!

12. Stock up on your shoe collection that you weirdly have an obsession with.

13. If you don't feel like spending money for a hotel, then have a lazy day at home, doing absolutely nothing. Watch Netflix and cook. Or have someone cook for you because "treat yo' self."

14. Go exploring. Take your camera and then you can brag to your friends about your wild adventures.

Basically, what I am trying to say is just go out and have a relaxing day for yourself. If you have a close friend who wants to join you, all the better. Make it a weekly thing, or even a monthly thing. Or make it a yearly thing, like Donna and Tom. You won't regret it because the day after you are going to feel a whole lot better. So remember, "treat yo' self."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
