Whether you like to believe it or not, your family plays a huge part in creating who you are. Yes, you create your own opinions and your own personality, but a lot of that still has to do with some guidance from those who are always there. Every family is handpicked and shaped into a unique group destined to love one another through thick and thin. It is a constant of unconditional love. A family is not always defined by blood, it does not have to be defined by government papers, and it does not have to be defined by stereotypes. A family is defined by love, and if you are a part of a group of people who show true unconditional love, consider them your family.
We all go through these struggles and these ups and downs in our life. As cliché as it is, life is one never ending roller coaster. It is filled with moments of fear, joy, thrill, and most importantly, freedom. Every family has their challenges, and being able to overcome those challenges, big or small, as a unit is one of the most incredible triumphs a group can achieve. It is the idea that no matter the consistent differentiating opinions, and the input from those who think they understand, only those who are in the situation can truly understand. You can vent to someone about these struggles, and try to explain the challenges you go through, and maybe that person can relate or understand, but no one will truly understand except those who were present in that exact situation. That is why families have this unmistakable bond. What they go through together could be disastrous, but they make it through it together.
This is a reminder to not take your loved ones for granted because you see these tragedies every day and you just have to realize how short life really is. I am not trying to create a concept of fear, but just always remember who has always been there for you. If a petty argument ensues, make sure it ends quickly; try your best not to hold grudges, and never be too stubborn to apologize. Make sure “I love you” is constant within your phrases, and say it when you really mean it, even if you are upset.
Always remember who helped shape you and who stayed there with you on your journey. Be proud of your family and show off your family because they are yours and you are theirs, and that is one of the most incredible concepts. Keep loving, living, and laughing with those who love, live, and laugh for you.
