Why Facebook Is The Worst Social Media

Facebook has become my least favorite platform.

Why Facebook Is The Worst Social Media

Facebook, everyone has one. Its popularity has decreased however it's grown to be the worst social media platform.

1. The Negativity

Facebook has become a place where negativity lives. I see more hurtful comments, more depressing posts, and pointless arguments each day. If you don't believe me, click on a post about Pit bulls (for example) and read the comments, you will find complete strangers battling it out and calling each other horrible names. I bet if you scrolled through your feed, you will find someone has posted something sad.

2. The Politics

I'm not just talking about the election. Every single day I see political posts on my feed. "The senate did this today" "Trump said this" "This protest is happening near you this week", the list goes on and on and on. I see friends being rude to each other and people having to unfriend their friends because of politics. And that is just stupid. Politics shouldn't ruin a friendship! Nor should you plaster them for all to see. It's a sure way to lose friends and it's annoying. I know many people can relate when I say, I don't check Facebook much because I don't want to get annoyed or be grumpy over things I disagree with. Why can't Facebook be a kind and fun place?

3. The Ugly And Gross Posts

I don't know why Facebook doesn't censor posts but it should. I have friends who not only like very sexual posts but share it, FOR EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER TO SEE. I'm sorry but do you really want your grandma knowing your kinks?! Why do you feel the need to share how many bowls you smoked today? Or that you are "so f*#&ing pissed about this h** who is a b$%^#". Once again, is that something you want your grandma to see? People seem to forget that employers can look at your social media, do you want them seeing what you want your boyfriend to do to you in bed? Nope, didn't think so. Keep it classy!

4. How Can I Make Facebook Better?

As much as I don't want to unfriend some people, I have had to do so. I don't want to see inappropriate photos. I don't want to see how you feel about the president. I want to log on to Facebook and see my friends enjoying their day, sharing good news or posting that cute new haircut. I want to see people raising awareness for a disease or giving advice to new moms. I am so over logging on to Facebook only to log off and sad or mad. Social media is so powerful and we should use it to empower others and make the world a better and happier place. Share positive messages and post beautiful pictures. Make your feed what you would like to see!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
