There are so many reasons I can think of as to why one should do a pin up shoot. Notice how I don’t specify girls, because heck, guys should do pin up shoots, too! (though I don’t really think anyone needs an actual reason).
A great first reason is because you want to, duh. You see these gorgeous images of women and men from days gone by and want to capture that. No problem with it. This is for you to shine as bright as you want. When I do a photo shoot, it’s not really for anyone but myself. Sometimes I submit them to pin up magazine, or maybe even frame one for my significant other. But in actuality, I have so many photos that I have just because I loved creating them.
Doing a pin up shoot or any kind of photo shoot where you get to be creative can be one of the best things on the planet. Planning a shoot can relieve stress and make you feel better. You put effort into this, whether it’s your outfit or costume, the location and props, or even just being in the moment with a smile a pose.
A photo shoot is a great way to showcase a hobby or interest. Love Pokemon? Then how amazing would a Pokemon inspired pin up be to see? What if you were the model in said photoshoot? That would make it that much more amazing. Doing pin up, boudoir, or just any sort of theme photo shoot will allow you to showcase your hobby or obsession in a way that’s fun and memorable. These photos will be something that you will be able to look back on and show you friends, family and children.
You deserve to do it! When was that last time you had a nice portrait of yourself? High school most likely, or if you did a family photo with your spouse and the little ones to send off to the various parents and relatives. But that didn’t show off the fun side of you. But this, this is all about you. Sure that may sound selfish, but everyone needs to be a little selfish once in awhile, otherwise we would never get the pleasure out of life that we deserve.
It would improve your self-image, trust me. I have been doing this for going on four years now. When I started doing pin up I was so self-conscious, my self-esteem being extremely low. After doing my first shoot, my confidence skyrocketed! Looking at the photos I had I couldn’t believe it was me! I wasn’t afraid to admit I looked amazing. Of course I was bitten by the bug after my first shoot and continued to do them, even to this day. I feel like this reason is the biggest and best reason to do a pin up photo shoot. To make you feel better about yourself and to see yourself for the attractive and beauty person you are.
These are just a few reasons one should do a pin up photo shoot. You may find other reasons to do it, but as long as it's for yourself and what you want, you don’t need any more reason than that.
