1. The food

Amsterdam’s food is indescribable and incredible. From cheese shops EVERYWHERE to chocolate covered waffles to vlaamse frites (french fries with mayo) to macaroons, you cannot go wrong. You definitely will not leave Amsterdam hungry!


2. Artsy pictures and beautiful buildings

Amsterdam has the best photo ops. The touristy, must do, is taking a picture with the IAMsterdam sign. I mean pics or it did not happen am I right? And the buildings are jaw dropping. The old and beautiful houses make me so jealous that I do not live in Amsterdam! I mean who would not want a house with a view of a canal?

3. Anne Frank house

A more historical sight than the others, the Anne Frank house is one of the most interesting and important things to do in Amsterdam. Although you are not allowed to take pictures in her house, you will definitely not forget anything you saw! P.S: the line gets extremely long so if you can buy tickets in advance definitely do it!

4. Vondelpark

Vondelpark is the perfect place for biking, a common activity and transportation in Amsterdam, walking and just laying down. It is the ideal location to just relax and soak in the beautiful scenery of Amsterdam.


5. Museums

There are more than enough museums in Amsterdam. Although, that is coming from someone who is not the biggest fan of museums. Despite not being the type to spend hours on hours at museums, the ones in Amsterdam are a must see for everyone and I found myself there for longer than I expected. My favorites were the Rijksmuseum (the picture shown below), the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum.
