School has just started again, and if you are anything like me, you are already feeling the stress of what this year has to offer. It is an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming and difficult to get back into a routine once again. When it comes to stress, most people have their own way of dealing and coping with it. For me, spending time and interacting with animals is a great way to do that! Dogs are cute and cuddly pals that are always there for us. They make us laugh, feel safe and comforted. I know that having pets in my life growing up taught me very valuable lessons about caring for others and enjoying the little quirky things of life. Unfortunately, I can't bring my dog to college with me, but that is where the internet comes into play. Here are some reasons why dogs truly are man's best friend to help us get through the week.
1. They are always excited to see you.
No matter what sort of day you've had, you can always count on your dog to be ready to greet you at the door when you come home. This never fails to put a smile on my face. You really don't have to do anything special for them to think that you're the greatest thing to have walked in the door. Who wouldn't love that kind of pick-me-up?
2. They love to cuddle.

3. Dogs are great listeners.
When you need a friend to just sit and listen about your day or something that is bothering you, your dog will always be there! (No, this is not weird at all.) In fact, it is something I definitely recommend trying in the future.
4. They never fail to entertain.
So many dogs, especially puppies, are just balls of energy. They are curious little creatures that always want to explore the world around them, whether or not they realize the trouble they could get into. All the clumsy things they get themselves into never fails to make me laugh.
5. They are just plain adorable.
No matter the size, breed or age, all dogs just share an unexplainable amount of cuteness that I think we can all agree on. There is a reason people flock to them when seen on the street or in someone's house. That's what makes them so lovable.
Moreover, this isn't just limited to dogs -- so many animals provide support and love to their owners in so many ways. It does not matter if you are a dog person, a cat person or like me, all of the above to understand the positive effect animals can have in a person's life. Having pets in our lives can be a great way to release stress and it's nice to have a companion always on your side. So if life is ever getting you down, I recommend finding the nearest cuddly animal and you will be feeling better in no time.
