4 reasons why designer clothes Seem To Be a necessity

In This Article:

In this day and age designer clothes have become a lot more popular than in past generations. Why do this generations teens and young adults feel the need to have these luxurious items? A question not many have an answer too but I may have some ideas.

1. Celebrities

Almost everyone in this generation has a celebrity role model. I believe teens from all generations had a celebrity role model or someone they looked up to whether it be for music or for acting or just for being a Kardashian. A Kardashian is someone who is famous for being famous, in other words, talentless if you all weren't aware. Anywho, in previous generations teens followed their celebrity role models in what they did, what they ate, and how they spoke. In this generation, we like to dress like our celebrity role models. Yes, we may spend over 1000 dollars on a pair of shoes but it's all to look just like our favorite pop artist.

2. To impress others

We all want to impress our friends, what says hey look at me more than a plain white 200 dollar shirt with "Supreme" written on it? Nowadays it is all about the name brand, the logo, and the cost of clothes. More than likely since the designer is so popular everyone knows the price of what you are wearing. No matter what brand, no matter where it is from, everyone can find how much it costs. Our generation is insecure and believes that the best way to make friends or get that hottest girl in class is to blow cash on shoes that will last a month. Growing up we watched lots of TV shows that showed us how guys with lots of money and the coolest and latest things got the girls. Sorry to ruin your day fellas but being a genuinely nice person is better than buying your high school sweetheart a diamond ring.

3. Social media

This generation is all about the now and following trends as fast as they come. There is a new trend almost every few months, whether it be ripped jeans & t-shirts or shoes that have written on them. No matter what it is, if media says it is cool it's cool. Social media is such a big part of today's youth, we can find celebrities promoting clothes and all the perfect outfits we would like to wear all on social media at the tip of our fingers.

4. Rebel

We often hear the terrible dad joke that goes, "I think you need to take those pants back, they have holes in them!" but nah pops - they were made like this. We often have to explain to our parents that it's fashion and they wouldn't understand. Sometimes we like to rebel a little and buy clothes just because we know our parents won't like them. Come on admit it, as a teen you liked making your parent mad, we all did! We sometimes rebel against society, just because others say it is weird to wear or doesn't look good we like to make it our own style and run with it.

A designer is promoted all day every day, in music, movies, art, and social media. It is all around us and being thrown in our face on every post we see on social media. This is why teens think that designer clothes are so important. Always remember kids, it is not about the clothes it is about the person wearing them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
