Why I Write For Odyssey At Saint Leo University
Odyssey

Before applying to become a content creator for Odyssey, I would constantly read the articles that popped up on Facebook. Even if the article did not necessarily apply to me, I was curious to see what the person has to say. I saw the opportunity to become a writer for my school and put in my application. Of course I went through the brief interview process and submitting my first article and I finally was able to call myself an Odyssey content creator. I was eager to begin writing those articles that caught the attention of various readers on the internet.

Odyssey is a way for people to write about anything they want. There are very little limits on what you can do. This is something that attracts a lot of people. You can write about things as simple as dogs or as serious as politics in America. You are free to choose what interests you, and run with it. You have the power to speak your mind and share it on the platform that will catch the attention of a lot of people. It is as easy as applying and beginning to write. You can use inspiration from anything. There are infinite possibilities of things you can write about, but picking one is the difficult part. You should not worry about whether or not you will get a bunch of shares or how people will feel about your article. This is your platform, create it how you want. I love Odyssey because there are (almost) no rules to what you can talk about. You can use Odyssey to share your beliefs about certain topics or to just talk about things you feel passionate about. There is no right or wrong answer to what you should talk about while writing your articles. Of course, we all want as may people as possible to read our articles, so we are going to share them on all of our social media to attract readers to read what we have written. I like that we as content creators do not have to tailor our articles to meet anyone's specific wants. We are free to discuss the things that matter most to us.

I write for Odyssey because I enjoy having a platform in which I can speak my mind and share my thoughts with others. I have read Odyssey articles which inspired me and helped me, and my goal is to hopefully write an article that really speaks to someone. For now, I am staying inside my comfort zone and writing about things I feel comfortable sharing but someday I hope to write about something I can open up to others about. Odyssey is a great platform for various ideas and thoughts from all different types of people in order to bring them together. It is an amazing way to connect people who are sharing their ideas with one another. Thank you, Odyssey for allowing me to become a content creator.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
