There's nothing better than finally hopping in the car and going home for the summer after a long, tough semester of responsibilities. Although every college student looks forward to coming home, there's always a small part of us that feels a little sad. It feels as though a chapter of our lives is coming to and end. There may be no place like home, but now we have two homes! Here's the many ups and downs that every college student feels when they come home for the summer. First, the downs...

1. There's NOTHING to do

The late night outings with your friends come to a halt once you're home for the summer. Everything closes at 10:00 p.m. and most of your friends may not even live in the same town as you.

2. Going back to work

Most students don't balance a full-time job and school at the same time. Which means homework during the school year lots of free time to work during the summer.

3. Unpacking

There's not enough room for all the things you've acquired at college in your room at home. Where are we supposed to put our free t-shirts and school supplies now?

4. Summer classes

Good luck to those who have to face this horror in the middle of the summer.

5. Not living with your best friends anymore

The roommates you choose to live with are some of the best people you've met in college. How will you learn to live without them? Who will help you pick out your outfit? Who will go on 3 a.m. McDonald's runs with you?

6. Experiencing separation anxiety from your second family

The friends you make in college are friends for life. You've met people with the same goals and interests as you and these people hold a special place in your heart. A summer without them might be tough, but at least it's only for a few months!

Next, the ups...

1. Seeing your family

Despite all of the stress and excitement in our lives, our parents are two of the most reliable people that we can turn to no matter what. Even though we may hate to admit it sometimes, we miss them while we're away at school. Plus, they can be pretty fun to hang out with.

2. Coming home to your pet

Who doesn't love the way that your pet looks at you after a few months away? The excitement in their eyes makes you question how you could ever leave them in the first place!

3. Free food

Sorry mom. We just can't help but raid the entire fridge after we've been deprived of home cooked meals for months.

4. Catching up on sleep

Finals week is always a draining week for any college student. We need to recover somehow!

5. Seeing your friends from home

Your friends from home are your family. They've grown up with you, accepted you at your worst, and always know how to cheer you up! It's always fun catching up with old friends once you're all home for the summer.

6. Reuniting with your bed

Because dorm room beds just don't cut it.

All in all, you wouldn't trade having two homes for anything. Your life at college is great, but so is your life at home. You feel so lucky to have so many people in your life that making saying goodbye so hard and make the best "Hellos".

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
