College: time for you to get out there and into the "real world." You are supposed to become independent, learn new things, and live away from home. Everyone says college is so much different than high school. And the reason for that? Well, college is so similar to something else: elementary school. And I am not kidding. Here are some reasons why:
1. You miss your parents.
2. You eat junk food when your parents aren't watching.
3. You have to take naps.
4. You have to ask your parents obvious questions that an eight year old should know like: "Can I have dessert for dinner?" (Except at college, you can. Refer back to No. 2.)
5. You are back to eating cafeteria food.
6. To make that food better you always get a cookie after.
7. You have crushes from afar, and probably talk about them like you would at a sleepover with your friends.
8. You have temper tantrums.
9. You have no idea what is going on. Ever.
10. You have sing alongs to "High School Musical" still.
11. (If you say you don't, you're lying.)
12. You get in trouble for being loud or staying up too late by your parents, aka RA's.
13. You have to follow the rules.
14. You're back to sharing a room like you may have done with your siblings.
15. You play ice breaker games in class like saying a fun fact.
16. You have fire drills.
17. Some of your classes will have field trips.
18. You are forced to be outgoing and make new friends.
College is a time for everyone to grow up, but sometimes it can't seem to be unnoticed that we are all 18- to 22-year-olds living the life of third graders!
