I know I know it's not even December yet. We still have Thanksgiving, but this is why I cannot wait for Christmas!! (And I know you all can relate.)
1. Spending time with ALL your family
At Christmas time we get to spend time with all our family. It is a great time to catch up and just be together around the Christmas tree.
2. THE FOOD
Since we are all together as a family it is a given that we have to eat. Let me tell you, my family can cook. I love everything from cornbread to dressing and macaroni to sweet potatoes. It's all so yummy which means I will need to go to the gym after the Holidays are over.
3. The Christmas lights and decorations
One of my favorite things is driving through town looking at Christmas decorations line the streets. Me and my family like to drive around and look at the lights and decorations on Christmas Eve.
4. The music
I'm not going to lie I listen to Christmas music year round. Some may judge me for it but, it's okay because I have the Christmas spirit around the clock. It's not my fault they are a grinch.
5. Peppermint everything
I'm one of those people that has to have everything that is seasonal at the moment. When it's fall I eat all foods that have the word pumpkin in them. When it is Christmas I get everything peppermint. Peppermint hot chocolate, candy canes, peppermint bark, and the list goes on and on. Also, this is a picture of my favorite milkshake from Chick-fil-a if anyone just happens to get one for me.
6. Cute winter clothes
Don't get me wrong I am a summer girl at heart, but winter clothes are so cute! I really think they look cuter because of the stores' Christmas window displays. There's nothing like cuddling up in a sweater and fuzzy socks when it is cold outside!
7. Tacky Christmas sweaters
This seems to have become a tradition every year. We always seem to go to a tacky Christmas sweater party. I mean who doesn't love have Santa, his reindeer, and ACTUAL jingle bells on their sweater??
8. Christmas movies!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ABC Christmas movie schedule just came out and I cannot be more excited! Some of my all time favorite Christmas movies are The Year Without a Santa Clause, Rudolf the The Santa Clause (1,2, and 3), and obviously Elf.
9. The Christmas spirit
There is something in the air at Christmas time. Everything seems happier and brighter.
10. What it means to me
Since I am a Christian, all this fun Christmas stuff is great, but I know what we are really celebrating at Christmas. We celebrate the birth of Jesus and that is what Christmas is about. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is the candle light Christmas Eve service at my church. We come together and celebrate the Light of the World that came to us. I am so thankful that whatever the world says Christmas is about is nothing compared to my Savior.
So are you excited now?? I know I am!
