Why I Can't Stop Watching Buzzfeed's "Tasty" Videos
Website: http://creativity-online.com/

To the Buzzfeed staff: If you're reading this, please consider this article as my formal application to be the next chef featured in an upcoming "Tasty" video. My infatuation with your videos is the main reason why I still continue to check my Facebook. As of lately, I simply can't scroll through my newsfeed without watching a pair of hands skillfully creating a batch of peanut butter cookie dough bites all in a matter of minutes. The quick cooking has cast a spell on me. Here's why:

1. The organization

As opposed to the inevitable calamity that ensues whenever I try to whip of a batch of chocolate chip cookies, the Tasty videos feature beautiful matching cookware, sparkling countertops, and effortless transitions from one ingredient to the next. Call me crazy, but I find the picture perfect filming of two hands dicing onions or seasoning chicken extremely satisfying.

2. The efficiency

Although my cooking skills are sub-par at best, a girl can still dream! Since most of the videos only average out to be about three minutes long, they give me hope that making such delicious creations should take minimal effort and time on my part.

3. The attention to detail

Whether its bubbling pasta sauce, drizzling carmel, or melting cheese, Tasty always pays attention to the most mouth-watering aspects of every dish. It's a food lovers dream and a dieters worst nightmare.

4. The final product

My favorite moment of every Tasty video is the voice that declares "oh yes!" once the food is prepared indicating that, at last, it's time to dig in. I couldn't even begin to count the number of times I've wished that I was the one eating the cheese-filled tater tots or slow-cooker chocolate lava cake at the end of a given video. To reiterate...Buzzfeed if you need another staff member, I'll happily send in my resume.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
