1. People
Have you ever driven past Black Friday traffic and, nevertheless, been suffocated in the throng?
Fact: Black Friday lines are the lines that make your phone die, even if it was fully charged when you first entered. Crowds are vicious, darling. No thanks.
2. Lack of Strategy
Fact: You basically need to blueprint your game-plan if you expect getting what you have ventured out for.
You make snap decisions on what to purchase because there is such a deal, i.e. panic mode. Or your niece/nephew is a precious diamond among gems and (s)he deserves your entire paycheck.
You somehow are too giving and see too many opportunities to exploit your kindness. Jason, my friend's cousin's wife's babysitter from Cork might appreciate this. It's honestly like hardcore Facebook-stalking but with money.
3. Guilt for workers
Has no one paid attention to all the BuzzFeed posts about what it's like for those on the opposite end of Black Friday? Those poor people with those bloodthirsty shifts.
Wrap-up:
"Shopping" on Black Friday is a loose term for a looping, anxiety-inducing line including too many strangers and (bonus!) an entire staff all strung out on five-hour energies shaken with coffee and probably no food.
