Why blanket forts are still awesome, even when you’re an adult
Remember when you were little and you lined up the tallest chairs, grabbed all the clothes pins from your moms clothes pins bucket and all the blankets and pillows you could find in your house, just to build a fort for the night? I do. I loved forts, and till this day blanket forts are still acceptable, no matter your age.
1. Inner kid:
With all the stress in life you need an outlet, so why not let your inner kid in you do something fun and creative to relieve some stress and find some laughter with something as simple as a fort.
2. Movie watching:
They are awesome for watching movies under. The lighting is perfect, there are no glares, and especially since it’s getting colder out, you are all snuggled up and warm.
3. It's okay to have some mess:
It is a perfect reason to have your house in a mess for a night or two and you can be totally okay with that.
4. Secret compartments are always fun:
Blanket forts are a good way to have fun and be secretive with the different compartments you’ve created. Remember when you were little and you would stash your entire collection of favorite stuffed animals and what not in a little secret corner within the fort? Well now you can create a hidden area to have a cooler with a wine bottle that is chilled with cheese and grapes on the side to eat.
5. Stories, stories, and more stories:
These forts are great for secrets and stories to be told under. When we were kids we may have told each other scary stories or secrets while not in your parents line of sight, but now you can tell your significant other, or best friends some scary stories, funny stories or secrets while hanging out.
6. Nerf gun wars? I'm down:
These forts can also be used to dodge, hide, and have a war with nerf guns with your significant other and or friends instead of going somewhere and spending money. You can enjoy a good war with some drinks and comfy clothes all in the comfort of your own house.
7. Plain and simple, forts are awesome:
Lastly, blanket forts are just awesome. Plain and simple. They allow you to escape life a little bit; it changes up the scenery and your routine in life and allows a little chaos, which is good to get your mind off other things.
