As the 2016 presidential campaign continues to unfold, America is getting to know their possible candidates. The Republican and Democratic parties are continuously increasing in differences, driving a wedge between their own competition, and the need for some much needed progress.
The ideal president is someone who will effectively change and address key problems with the United States.
The need for people to be active in the voting process is ever growing. Our parents, grandparents, and professors have been telling us this for years. Often times, people make some excuse that goes somewhere along the lines of “No I didn’t vote this year, my opinion won’t matter in the long run anyway.” This way of thinking can be very dangerous for the growth of America. You also hear the other side, which is that if you don’t vote, you really don’t have a voice in complaining about the president elected. Voting is a right, and it is a right you should be proud to have. So this year, take full advantage of it.
Although I am definitely not an expert on politics by any means, I still find it very important to be involved in the continuous development of this country. Among the 2016 hopefuls, I find one particularly interesting. Bernie Sanders, who is the former Vermont Senator, has an intriguing history as a self-proclaimed socialist running for the democrat side in order to raise exposer among the better-known potential candidates by expressing some of his ideas.
Bernie Sanders has been working to raise some much-needed awareness about issues surrounding immigrants, students, and environmental problems. Even if Sanders doesn’t swipe the completion and become the next president, it matters that he is in the running.
What is Sanders doing to show he is a good candidate?
Sanders is forcing the other candidates to focus on issues that they will have to address as president instead of bashing their competitors.

These reasons are why Bernie Sanders should matter to all of us, as Americans who hope for a better future from our next president. This is a reason to vote, a reason to have a part in the changes that could make American life even better.
