10 Reasons Why Being A Girl Is So Much Harder

Many people argue that being a girl is so much harder than being a boy and I am here to prove that point.

Okay so it's been said that being a girl is way harder than being a boy. Whether or not this is actually true is beyond me. But I do have a few things to say on behalf of most of my girls out there. Why is it harder being a girl, you may ask. Well I'll tell you.

1. One word: MAKEUP

Okay so obviously this one is a hit or miss. Some girls don't wear makeup and that's perfectly fine but it is definitely a key factor on why it's hard to be a girl. Contouring is so complicated. Let me tell you. Do it in the wrong lighting and... BAM.. you think you are looking hot and fabulous but in reality you look like a drag queen rolling out of bed on a hot day. Not only is the contouring hard but the good make up costs an arm and a leg. Yes, we work doubles and work for our money but walk into the makeup store and you can say bye-bye life savings on buying just lipstick and mascara. Feel lucky that you, guys, don't have to deal with this struggle.

2. Clothes

So this is a hard one. Sometimes you can find great deals on designer stuff but if you want something out of the ordinary you are stuck paying top dollar. Now this isn't only about the money either, girls are expected to look flawless with dresses and heals while guys can be in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and be perfectly fine in society.

3. Going on a date

Some will say that this will be the same for boys or girls and I won't argue that point at all but it is still hectic for a girl regardless. We have to go through five outfits, three makeup changes, talk to at least two friends on what to say and how to act, you know, just in case we show our true selves, and on top of that, make sure we have an escape rout, just in case.

4. Making Friends

Now, I don't know about you but I think its actually harder to make friends as a girl. Guys can sit in a bar, look to the left, see another dude wearing the same shirt or drinking the same beer and become instant friends. Girls on the other hand have to basically go through three girls to find one that will stick. The only good thing is that when we girls do find one, we are basically branded friends for life.

5. Eating in public

Here it goes, I hear so many girls think like this: There are so many times that we wanted a steak or burger or like the entire pizza but, us being girls, if we have a huge portion or a fatty food in front of us it's frowned upon. Don't get us wrong, we will totally get those things if we absolutely want them but it's not like we can eat it for every meal, you know? I, personally, don't care. Unless I`m on a first date, you can bet if I want that stuff I will get it but I do hear this often from other girls.

6. Jobs

I had to say it. I recently had to switch jobs and I cannot tell you how many interviews I went to. Some of witch told me straight up that they were looking for a male instead. Not only is this seen in the interviewing process but also when you are in the job as well. I have seen guys get promoted faster even if their qualifications are not as good as the female in the same position in need of a promotion as well.

7. Sex

So this one I know is greatly talked about. Guys can hook up here and there and sometimes even multiple girls in a night but if a girl does it, it is greatly frowned upon. I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I have talked about this. I know many girls that sleep around and can't keep a guy longer than a month because all of the guys realize her past and leave instantly because they don't want a girl that has been with many other guys but get it the other way around, it is social accepted.

8. Video games

Okay so I only put this on here because GIRLS CAN PLAY VIDEO GAMES TOO. I cannot tell you how many times I bring up that I play video games and all of a sudden guys are like, oh you probably aren't good then. Ummmm, no. Actually, sir, I will beat you if we play together because I know just as much or maybe even more than you do. Sorry to burst your bubble but video games are not only for boys. Okay? Thanks, bye.

9. Periods

Obviously girls have this one in the bag already because guys don't get them. But I have seen those videos that guys are in a simulator that makes them have the pain of cramps and they can't even handle that. You boys try having blood flow out of your private parts for five to seven days straight every singly month. You would agree that we have it rough too.

10. Child birth

Obviously boys wouldn't know what this is like but it just proves that we have it tougher on this side of the spectrum. Our insides basically move around during pregnancy and we basically get ripped apart just for the child. Granted when a girl does have a child we love them dearly but I mean the process takes such a toll on us. You wouldn't want to stop drinking for nine months and grow fats and everything either.

This all states why I personally believe why girls have it harder. Obviously there is going to be someone somewhere voicing the opposite opinion and that is perfectly fine by me.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
