rom a young age, blondes hear jokes about how dumb they are. People underestimate what some people are capable of based on their hair color. Hollywood has even capitalized on using blonde actresses for the roles that were not as intelligent to get chuckles from the audience. Marilyn Monroe was an actress that was used for her blonde hair.

Both men and women have used hair dye to become blonde because there is a small percentage of people that are naturally blonde. Only two percent of the population is naturally blonde and, according to a primal theory, men chose blonde women more often because they stand out from their rivals. Men choose blondes out of competition, because they also feel like blonde girls have "more fun."

Some studies shown that blondes are more approached in the dating scene and social environments because they are perceived as more easily approachable. It has also been found that blonde women have more intelligence than any other hair type.

Every naturally born blonde knows the punch line to every blonde joke. People do not realize that the stereotype is actually hurtful. Blondes do not want to be questioned their capabilities based on a stupid stereotype. I could not count all of the numerous times I have been told a joke went right over my head because I was blonde or that I did not understand something because I was blonde. Maybe the problem is not that I am too dumb to understand; but, instead the joke was immature or the statement I did not understand was not grammatically correct.

Society views blondes different because of the "dumb blonde" stereotype. Everyone is less likely to take a blonde seriously in any circumstance. Even from a young age, throughout school, people have questioned my intelligence because of my hair color. Throughout school I thought I had to show everyone countless times that I was not just another "dumb blonde." Society should realize that people can not naturally choose their hair color, we are given the hair color we are supposed to have. There are different hair colors for a reason and quite honestly that does not make anymore any more or any less that other people. Everyone does everything to their full capability because it is not a competition.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
