Our dogs play a ginormous role in our lives and we all know it. They love us unconditionally. We are their entire world and that's why they treat us with such love and care. I mean, my parents don't jump on the couch and wag their tails so fast they come close to flying away every time I walk through the front door. My dog though? My dog does. He's the last one to walk me out and the first one to greet me in.

Once we're back at school, our daily routines with our dogs at home get broken. Not only are they confused as to why we are leaving yet again, but they also don't know when we'll be back. If we'll ever be back. The more I think about it, the sadder I get.

1. My morning wake up calls.

My dog is a great alarm clock. If I ever sleep past 9 am, which would be nice sometimes, he comes to my bedroom door and starts to bark. He doesn't stop until I roll out of bed and open my door to great him. All though the morning wake up call can get annoying on weekends I surely will miss it.

2. The way he makes me follow him to the treat jar.

At random times of the day, my dog taps his paw on my foot, makes me get up and follow him to where he knows the doggy treats are stored. It's so cute when he guides me throughout the house looking back every couple of seconds to make sure I'm still following. Just for his brilliance, I'll give him a treat.

3. When he flops on to my stomach.

Not only is 80% of the couch available to sit on, but my dog comes running to me once I sit down and flops his entire body on to my stomach. It never fails. Sometimes I have to go to the couch super quietly so he doesn't hear me. The moment he realizes though, it's game over. I have become his new couch.

4. When he fights for my attention.

My dog is an attention seeker. Not even gonna sugar coat it. But, you know what? That's okay! When I give him belly rubs and stop, he perks his head up until I get back to it. Every time I lift my hand off his body, he cries until I put it back.

5. His contagious curiosity.

My dog is so curious it gets him into trouble sometimes! He wants to smell everything, approach everything, taste everything sometimes I wonder how he gets himself into certain situations. His curious personality has left me with a lifetime of stories.

I wish I could bring my little goofball with me to school. What did we do to deserve dogs? I don't know.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
