Grandparents are a special gift that everyone should appreciate. They care for you just as much as your parents do (in some cases more than your parents), they love to do things with and for you, they're often the kindest family members and they love you very much. Now, I don't know about all of you, but I love my grandparents more than anything. In this case, I am talking about my Nana and Papa, which are my grandparents on my mother's side.
My Nana and Papa have always been a huge part of my life. Ever since I can remember, going over to their house was one of my favorite things. I even used to cry when it came time to leave. Sometimes it got so bad that they just let me stay the night over at their place instead of going home. My sister, Brittany, and I always had so much fun at their house. They had an awesome swimming pool, a pond, a boardwalk, a gold cart, four wheelers, a huge house, and more. They even had horses for a while, two of which were my sister and I's. Their names were Shiloh and Alabama, respectively. Now they live in a different house, but it's still fun to go over there regardless. I appreciate my grandparents, because one day I won't get to spend the night with them anymore.
I've been a lot of places with my Nana and Papa. They're big on traveling and take Brittany and I with them sometimes. We've been to New York, Mexico, Georgia, North Carolina (for a little bit, at least), St. Thomas, etc. We've been on a good amount of cruises with them, but I can't remember all of the places that the ships have gone. I appreciate my grandparents because one day I won't be able to travel with them anymore.
More often than anything, we do a lot together in state. I do mean a lot, too. We've been to big places such as Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, Ruth Eckerd Hall and Gaylord Palms. We've also done a lot together just around town, from simple errands to going out to eat. Just recently I went to Goody Goody in Tampa with them and my boyfriend, Colin. I appreciate my grandparents because one day I won't be able to hang out with them anymore.
The important thing to always remember is that, in the end, it isn't about where we get to go and what we get to do. The important thing is that we're having fun together. We're spending time together. We're seeing new places together. We're laughing together. We're together. I appreciate my grandparents because one day they won't be there anymore, so I have to show them and tell them how much I love them now and how much they mean to me before it's too late.
