Why Anne Frank Inspires Me

Her Story Will Always Be My Favorite From Middle School

In 8th grade English class we read many books throughout the year, but the one that stood out to me the most was Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. It tells the story of her life in hiding from the Nazi's she wrote in it for 2 years before her and her whole family were captured by the Nazi's.

This book had changed my life in more ways than one. She inspired me to start my own diary, which would eventually lead to wanting to be a professional. She is one of my influences when it comes to writing.

Anne was just like every other teenage girl, she hung out with her friends, liked boys, went to the movies, went to school, and of course kept a diary. She was barely 16 when she died, it was sad that she didn't get the chance to fully live her life.

The book really gave a perspective on what it was like during that horrible time in history. I cant even imagine what her and her family went through. What any of those people went through before all of that happened she was just a regular girl like everyone else

I hope to one day go to Amsterdam and visit the Anne Frank House, that house has a story to tell and while you are in there you can really picture what her family was going through. I saw that there was a no photo rule and even as a photographer, I don't mind that rule those are originals that could be damaged with just one little flash, and it can also disturb the other visitors as well.

One day I will go to that house and all of the other memorials around the world, I like going to those to reflect, to think about what happened, to learn about something,

I used to have a diary that I would write down my thoughts, and mostly random stuff as well. I plan to start doing that again, but this time around I will write down basically anything, what is going on around me, the people around me, what is going on in my life, and just stuff in general.

Reading her story also puts things into perspective as well, remembering how bad things were back then, how they were treated, and it makes me mad whenever people deny the Holocaust even happened, because there is so much proof that it happened, photos, interviews of people who were actually there, memorials, and Auschwitz take a visit there, I have never been there but I have seen video of it online, and it is very haunting go there and maybe you will think twice about denying.

Anne Frank is definitely an inspiration, I do wish that she was still alive to see all of the support that her diary is getting, for people to know her story, and still be one of the most popular books to this day. I hope you guys read this book at some point in your lives. It will really change you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
