Why Is Abortion Becoming Celebrated?

Since when has tragedy become a victory?

Why Is Abortion Becoming Celebrated?

Abortion has been a very controversial issue sweeping the nation for decades. Should a mother have the right to terminate the life of the child inside of her before he or she is born, or should the child inside of her have the right to live? I could go on and on about defending the rights of the life of the child inside of the mother and I already have in previous articles; however, that is not the focus of the words I am about to share.

No matter what you believe, whether you take the pro-life or pro-choice stance, an abortion is NEVER something that should EVER be celebrated. The celebratory posts I have seen regarding the overturned abortion law in Texas make me sick to my stomach. Why do people find the right to stop life from happening as something to be celebrated?

Whether you believe what is inside the mother is considered life or not, how could the topic of abortion possibly be something that is acclaimed? You might be thinking that it's all about woman's rights and them being given the choice. However, this is not a positive choice for anyone to make, unlike for example, women receiving the ability to vote. This is different. This is a woman deciding if she would like to keep or lose the life of the baby inside of her.

What a traumatizing and horrific decision for someone to make, and people are actually turning that horrific decision into a celebration? I think if more people were educated on what actually takes place in the procedure of an abortion, the celebration would turn into mourn and grief.

Most abortions come along with horrible psychological side effects for the mother, such as depression, shame, guilt, relationship issues, and anger. While this is not true for every women, this just goes to show how tragic this event can be.

Yet people continue to celebrate, such as the Daily Show who tweeted: "Celebrate the ruling! Go knock someone up in Texas!" What a vile, disgraceful way to turn something so tragic into a joke.

Not to mention, Cosmopolitan's tweet in February saying: "Texas women are having more babies since Planned Parenthood was defunded." While there may not seem to be anything wrong about that statement, Cosmopolitan concluded the tweet with a frowning face.

Why are people upset that women are choosing to have babies? I would like people such as Cosmopolitan to just provide a reason as to why deciding to have a child is a negative issue in any way.

It is truly sickening that people are becoming so uneducated as to what an abortion entails and the traumatic effects that come along with it that they are choosing to celebrate it. What a messed up world. I urge you to pray for an educated generation that rises up against this disgracefulness – a generation that is not afraid to differentiate between wrong and right, a generation that brings this nation back to what it once was before.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
