"2 Broke Girls" is by far my favorite television show. I have never found a show that I have truly enjoyed. I love the show for the obvious reasons because it's really funny and always makes me laugh and cheers me up. The show is written well, the cast is on point in terms of comedy as well. I am a big fan of everyone on the show especially Max and Caroline, who are played by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. They are honestly so talented, inspirational and amazing. I have been a fan since the first season, and I always quote lines from the show in conversations with my friends and family. I find myself quoting Max, Caroline, Sophie, and Oleg all the time.
However, the main reason I love the show is because I can relate to it so very much. I have grown up in and still live in a tense financial situation. My family is incredible--they love and care unconditionally, but in terms of finances, we have had our setbacks and sufferings. That's why the show appeals to me; I understand what it's like to be living paycheck to paycheck it's how I have the last ten years of my life since I was eleven years old. I understand and relate to the situations that Max and Caroline experience financially, all the strains and the struggles they go through. I understand what it's like to lose everything financially and what it's like to start from scratch similar to Caroline's journey. I can comprehend what it's like not having enough money for groceries, bills and rent.
For most people the show may not be that relate-able but for me "2 Broke Girls" is relatable to my life in so many ways. I have experienced the things that Caroline and Max go through. The show means so much to me because no matter what Max and Caroline go through, they don't give up and are hopeful. The show inspires me to keep going and never give up on accomplishing my dreams and goals.
I love that when I watch the show I can laugh, and my mother and I can sit for hours and laugh while we watch the show. My mom and I will often find ourselves relating to the situations played out on the show, for example when Max and Caroline's fridge broke and they had to fix it with tape because they could not afford a new fridge. That actually happened to my family two years ago, so we thought it was hilarious to see that on "2 Broke Girls." There are times when my mother, father, older brother and I will watch the show together and laugh. I am grateful that there is a show out there like "2 Broke Girls" because it shows real life, and also manages to make you laugh and feel good. I truly appreciate the show so much.
