Who you were.
Who you are.
Who you will be.
These are three short phrases and they sum up your whole life. An endless cycle of each phase. Within these words are every person you have met and will meet, the experiences you had and will have, the emotions you felt and still have yet to feel, and the good days...or the bad days.
The most comforting idea in mistakes and letting go is that there is always a lesson to be learned. A way to make yourself stronger, smarter, or to deepen your understanding. What may have been good for who you were, might not be right for who you are. You will process things differently, react differently. You may still pass judgment but will always give it a second thought when you recognize that person could be still growing.
The most beautiful part is that these "who's" are not permanent. They are all influenced by each other. You can grow and change from each person, experience, emotion, or day. Who you were might be a rough copy of who you will be. Maybe you don't listen to the same music or you learned to love yourself. You will constantly improve until who you are is who you were, and you're becoming who you will be.
This cycle doesn't promise to be easy. You might have to say goodbye to people you thought you'd always have. You might fail more time then you can count on two hands. You may not get to do everything you always hoped to do. That is okay. Many beautiful things will replace everything you lost or never even had. There will still be early mornings, maybe just with different people. There will still be successes, but they will feel so fulfilling. You are look back on it all and understand why everything happened the way it did.
Life is short, allow yourself the ability to become who you will be. Reach beyond your comfort zones, try new things. You cannot stay stuck in the past. Be self-aware and spend time alone, you will learn so much about yourself. Don't hurt others, even if they hurt you...it will feel so rewarding to be the bigger person. Everyone is going through this process. Each journey is different. Don't be bitter if yours does not match up with someone else's, you will advance as much as YOU let yourself.
This a small comforting note to you. To remind you that you are in progress. Don't be discouraged by what you haven't accomplished, you still have time. Appreciate the course you're on, it made you the unique individual you are. Someone worthy of love, happiness, and opportunities as much as you don't believe you do.
