If you're anything like me, you know that nothing beats a classic vinyl record. It just sounds so much better. I grew up listening to my parents collection of old 80's rock albums, and now I've started my own collection of music. Luckily in the past couple years vinyl has made a major comeback and it's much easier to find. Even current artists have encouraged this comeback by producing their own vinyl albums for fans to purchase. Here's a couple places that you can find those vinyl album must haves!
1. Local Record Store
Sometimes they're a bit hard to find, but once you do it's easy to spend hours looking around. In my opinion, shuffling through boxes with plastic covered albums is part of the experience. Here's where you might get lucky and find an old, rare album, or one that's not popular to the public, but a treasure to you. Even if the store is a little bit of a destination, take a friend and make a day trip out of it! Take a drive to a cool record store and grab a coffee at a local cafe! Perfect day in my opinion! Use VinylHunt.com and you'll find some great independent record stores near you.
2. Urban Outfitters
Yes, its true! I'm always surprised by the variety they have from old school classics, to new age indie. Urban Outfitters also has really nice record players if you're in the market for a new one. Urban is a little bit pricey, but records are timeless, so splurge a little!
3. Best Buy
Best Buy has a pretty good selection, and they're a little bit cheaper than some other places.
4. Artist Websites
Several artists have their own websites with store tabs where you can order their vinyl albums online and have them shipped to your door. This can come in handy if you know exactly what you want and don't have the time to spend moseying around a store.
5. Target.com
Not all Targets have vinyl albums in store, but online they have a great variety! They have everything from Jay-Z to Queen, and one of the best things is that they're a lot more affordable than other stores.
6. Amazon
Amazon.com has every new album you could want and you can even search by price, which is helpful if you're under a budget, but want to start a collection. Amazon also has turntables and accessories if you're looking to add to your vinyl aesthetic.
I hope these 6 places gave you ideas of where you can find your new vinyl albums. Let me know in the comments where you love to go record shopping!
