Disney -- home of our childhood memories, the beginning of our imagination, and the place that taught us that anything is possible if we just believe. Disney holds a special place in my heart, and no matter what age I am, that will never change. With Walt Disney World resort hosting over 52 million annual visitors, I have a feeling I’m not the only one, and here’s why.
“Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional” -- Walt Disney
1. Disney magic
There’s something magical about Disney World. I know it may sound silly, and you may roll your eyes, and that’s fine, but deep down, no matter what age you are, you can’t deny that something about Mickey Mouse or Cinderella’s castle at the end of Main Street lights a fire inside of you. It gives you something to believe in. It provides you with an alternate world -- somewhere that ~magic~ really does exist.
2. It reminds you of your childhood.
I’ll be the first to admit that when I was little, I couldn’t wait to grow up. I wanted to understand all the adult jokes and be able to do whatever I wanted to do. I wanted to be a big kid. But, I’ve learned that being a “big kid” isn’t always so easy. The world is tough, and while I am happy to be where I am, sometimes it’s nice to get to be a child, and nothing brings that out of us like Disney.
3. Park hopping!
Walt Disney World has four theme parks. That’s right, four! Plus two water parks and a downtown area. The possibilities are endless, and the fun never ends! Walt Disney World resort really is it’s own “world” filled with fireworks, fairy tales, and pixie dust. Whether you love the animation and action in Hollywood Studios, exploring the great outdoors and various continents in Animal Kingdom, travelling to different countries and even the future in Epcot, or celebrating the heart of all things Disney in Magic Kingdom, there’s somewhere for everyone. And who can complain about that?
4. People to meet and things to see!
Do you wanna build a snowman? Or at least meet one in the park? I think some meet and greets are overdue. We want to see Tigger and Pooh; it’s starting to get dark.
With all the rides and shows and characters, it’s easy to lose track of time as the days fly by. Whether you spend your days snacking on Turkey legs and Mickey head ice cream bars, waiting in line for the biggest attractions, such as Space Mountain and the Rock’n’Roller Coaster, watching some of the many shows, including Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Voyage of the Little Mermaid, or even just trading pins, you’re sure to find yourself busy for the duration of your vacation.
5. It really is the happiest place on earth.
At the end of the day, there’s really one reason to spend your vacation time in Disney – it’s the happiest place on earth.
“That’s the real trouble with the world too many people grow up.” -- Walt Disney
Well, not me. Not ever!
