There's a song I've recently heard a lot on the radio, and it's called Hide Away by Daya, and it's really catchy; I even sing it in the shower. Yet this song asks a really great question: "Where do the good boys go to hide away?" and it got me thinking, where do they hide? Apparently with everyone I know getting married and engaged, they are finding them somewhere. Can ya'll help a sister out and tell me where ya'll are finding these good guys, and where do I get one because I'm not finding them?
When I was high school, I thought good boys hid in college and then I got to college. Then honestly I didn't even think a "good boy" existed; like dinosaurs they were extinct. Maybe because of Nicholas Sparks and Disney I have unreal expectations; I know no one is perfect, but I do have some things I call deal-breakers; if you do these things then the deal (our relationship) is done or off. Mine are if you don't love Jesus, and if you drink or smoke. If you do these things, I probably won't give you a chance to be real with me. Basically, I want a good boy or a Christian boy, and let me tell you they are hard to find. I've looked in church and other places, but these boys hiding in trees or something. I know my deal-markers seem unrealistic especially in college, but I know that boys like this have to be somewhere.
Maybe I friendzone these guys; yeah, I'm guilty of this, or maybe they friendzone me because I'm a good girl. I love Jesus, I don't drink, and I don't smoke. I'm also very innocent, and apparently that's not "sexy" anymore, and boys don't look for that. Sorry, but I disagree with that. Me being confident in who I am is sexy, and boys that don't like me for who I am can go hide away.
Are all the good boys taken and that's why we can't find them? Have they all been picked over or swept away? I mean, come on, girls couldn't you have saved us some of the good apples instead of leaving us with the rotten ones that holler at us when we walk down the street?
I know there's a good apple somewhere, though, even if it's hard to find. Girls, don't settle for the bad apples when there's a good apple waiting for you. You know your worth and wait to find a good boy that understands that you're worth the commitment, and not just a one night stand. Just keep waiting, things take time like for apples to ripen and to be good apples that are are perfect to picked.
